Hello! It’s been a little while, so I thought I’d just do a chatty post updating you all on what Joff and I have been up to this past month. Whilst the weather has been so rainy, grey and miserable I haven’t felt overly inspired to write, but today the sun is out in Sheffield and I am sat in my garden typing this surrounded by my veggies and plants (see my previous post) which I’m hoping will burst into colour in the next couple of weeks.
So, what’s been happening?
Joff and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary at the beginning of June! We celebrated by having a little spa day in Sherwood Forest. It’s crazy how quick two years has gone, yet it feels like forever ago. So much has changed for us over the past year, but I can honestly say we have never been happier. I think the move to Sheffield has been good for us …exploring a new place neither of us know. It’s a lot of fun!
Joff is currently working his notice and is starting with a new company in July. We are truly thankful he got his current job as quick as he did when we were moving here, as without that I don’t actually know what our back up plan would have been! But after a few months in the job he’s found that being on his own in a van going up and down the M1 all day isn’t really his thing …so he’s looking forward to doing a similar job more locally with a smaller company who seem really great! I’m so pleased Joff is able to use this move to discover opportunities and find a job he truly enjoys.
My days at the dental school are 9-5 most days with revision and work to do in the evenings, but Joff and I are getting used to it all now and finding balance by going out for walks and coffee breaks. It’s exam season the next two months (my course year is April – April so runs through the summer), but at least there’s a two week break in the middle of it all where we are going on a little holiday down the LLyn Peninsular in North Wales. It’s an area Joff and I haven’t yet explored together, so we are really looking forward to that (Rupert is excited too!)
Overall we are having loads of fun still finding amazing places to eat and drink around Sheffield. There is so much going on here, it’s the perfect city for us. We recently had the most tasty meal at Mowgli’s to celebrate Joff’s new job which has just opened ten minutes away from us. It’s Indian street food and was just such an enjoyable experience. There is one in Liverpool too if anyone back home in North Wales wants to go! I should do a little post about our favourite places we have been to so far! Watch this space…
I hope you are all well and have had a good month too!
Enjoy the summer weather!!
