How is it November already?! And where did October go?
It’s been a full on month for Joff and I, and I’m hoping to write about it soon. For me, writing is a way of processing things, and even when I’m not uploading blog posts (it has been a while), I’m still always writing about things that are happening. They tend to only end up on my blog once I feel as though I have reached some sort of clarity and it feels natural.
For now though, we are keeping cosy in our little home, enjoying the dark evenings, working lots and enjoying cooking winter meals and making warming drinks…. I made this gorgeous winter punch the other night and wanted to share it with you. The two words I would use to describe this drink are comfort and warmth… perfect for chilly evenings!
This recipe works well served over ice too, so keep it in mind as the weather warms up! Finish it with a sprinkle of nutmeg and enjoy!
1 cup / 240 ml whole milk
1/2 cup / 120 ml heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup / 30 g icing sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-3 oz / 60-90 ml bourbon (to taste)
Throw the whole milk, cream, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer, stir until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and pour into a deep mug, top with bourbon and enjoy.
