So, I’ve never done a post like this before. I’ve never felt the need to. But during my recent visit to the home section of TK Maxx I got so excited about the potential buys for any of you who love the bohemian rustic wedding style that I so love. Joff and I bought a lot of bits and bobs from there for our wedding… from wooden crates to table decor. They really do have some amazing finds sometimes!
Now, to make this look more professional I probably should have done a ‘TK Maxx Haul’, but I’m not going to lie to you guys, I don’t have the money to buy a load of stuff I don’t need ….so instead I took photos inside the shop *haha*. But I wanted to show you how achieveable the most beautiful bohemian hen do, wedding, birthday or baby shower can be.
I found this image on Pinterest to set the scene, so you have a feel for the vibe I’m trying to achieve. I can’t think of a more perfect way to spend an evening with your friends.
Buy a second hand dining room table from a charity furniture shop and cut the legs in half, making it an ideal height for sitting on the floor (alternatively, wooden pallets work well!). Hang some warm fairy lights, light candles, add some Macramé hanging decor or table runner to achieve the relaxed, boho feel we are after.
TK Maxx had so many of these gorgeous woven rugs with beautiful patterns which would be perfect for laying on the ground around the table.
Add some woven baskets to the table with cheeses, fresh salads and cut fruit.
Can you tell I’m loving all things straw and woven at the moment!? It’s just such a nice look throughout the summer months. These baskets would be perfect for fire wood or for marshmallows, buscuits and chocolate for evening s’mores around the firepit.
A few cushions would be fine, but I thought these would go really well with the rugs on the floor, and add different levels to ensure everyone is comfortable.
And I couldn’t not show you these! These balloons would look stunning with some white bunting, or hanging on the back of the bride and groom’s chairs at the wedding with Macramé chair backers and some foliage.
There are so many beautiful ideas and brilliant buys that don’t need to be unachievable or expensive. Keep an eye out for great finds and use Pinterest as a good place to start… then let your imagination and DIY skills run free to create stunning memories.
Here are a few images from a birthday party we did for a lovely friend a few years back using some of these ideas 🙂
